Patty Jane’s House of Curl by Lorna Landvik

Sisters and Their Misters

Patty Jane’s House of Curl by Lorna Lanvik is about a woman whose husband disappears one night after an argument, changing the direction Patty Jane thought her life was headed.  The 7-month-pregnant Patty Jane learns to move forward one day at a time with the help of her best friend—her lifelong support—her sister Harriet, as well as her mother in law.  Together the three ladies and the baby, Nora, form a strong family bond that takes each person through different highs and lows.

I really enjoyed this story that was set in Minneapolis, starting in the 1950s.  The author’s wit and wry humor kept me going as did the strong love the characters had for each other.
Funny and touching.

This book met one of my 2015 Book Challenges:  Read a book about siblings.

Happy Reading,

Annette
